Pilot-data boundary
Participant listings, conversations, messages, reservations, and media are treated as durable service data. They are changed or removed only through normal lifecycle, retention, moderation, account, or migration processes.
Privacy notice
The operator is the controller of participant data. Mottainai collects only what is needed to operate the noticeboard, protect participants, and learn whether the bounded pilot works.
During the pilot, the authorized operator may explicitly reveal your stored verified Google email to recognize participants. Each access is recorded without copying those details into the audit log. These details never become your public profile.
What is collected
This may include provider account identifiers, a display name and optional profile details, listings and sanitized photos, participant-scoped messages and reservations, reports and feedback, notification choices, session records, and bounded security or operational records. Exact addresses and direct contact details are not required in public listings.
Why it is used
Data is used to provide the requested account and exchange functions, enforce access and safety boundaries, deliver optional notifications, meet legal duties, and protect the legitimate interests of operating a secure and reliable pilot. Consent is used only where a feature specifically asks for it.
Service providers
The configured pilot may use OpenAI and Cloudflare for hosting, storage, security, assisted drafting, and public translation; Google when you choose that sign-in provider; and Resend or browser push infrastructure when you enable an available notification channel. Some providers may process data outside the EEA under their applicable contractual or legal safeguards.
Public and private information
Listings, selected photos, display names, and approximate locations are public. Authentication identity, provider identifiers, email destinations, drafts, exact contact details, and messages remain private except when disclosure is requested by the participant, needed to deliver the service, attached to a specific report, or required by law.
Retention
Active account and listing data is retained while needed for the service. Message bodies are normally redacted 90 days after a listing closes or completes. Reported material may be held while a report is open and up to 12 months afterward. Pending notification payloads expire after 23 hours, completed delivery records after 7 days, operational and aggregate performance records after 30 days, and unfinished uploaded-photo batches after 6 hours. Feedback contact is cleared 30 days after completion and feedback text after 90 days, subject to documented safety or legal holds.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your data where applicable. You may disable optional notifications and delete your account through Settings. You may also complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection.
Contact the operatorTerms and community rules
These rules apply to the invitation-only, non-commercial pilot. Using Mottainai means using the service within these boundaries; the privacy notice is information, not a blanket consent request.
- Participants must be adults and must not give an invitation to a child.
- Participants arrange exchanges directly. Mottainai does not process payment, hold funds, ship items, guarantee handoff, or become a party to the exchange.
- Post only content you may share. Describe items, needs, skills, availability, price, and known safety issues honestly; check machine-generated drafts before publishing.
- Do not post illegal or unsafe goods, scams, harassment, impersonation, spam, discriminatory content, or another person's private information.
- The operator may restrict content or accounts to protect participants or comply with law. Where appropriate, the affected person receives the reason and may request review through the operator contact.
- Participants must make their own judgment about an item, person, service, meeting, and handoff. Nothing here excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Safety and reporting
Use private messages for contact details and handoff arrangements. Meet safely, inspect items before accepting them, and do not send money or sensitive documents to someone you do not trust.
How to report a problem
Use the Report action in a conversation for a user or message. For a listing, privacy request, illegal-content notice, or review request, contact the operator and include the relevant URL, what happened, and only the evidence needed to understand it.
The operator may dismiss the notice, ask for information, restrict visibility, remove content, suspend an account, or preserve limited evidence. Decisions and private-message access are recorded; unrelated private messages are not inspected.
Mottainai is not an emergency service. Contact the police or the appropriate emergency service when someone is in immediate danger.
